Chester City Still Looking for Solution to Drainage Problem
The flooding that transpired and damaged several private properties last July 2013 has brought Chester City officials searching for a solution to their plumbing problems. This all started last July 10 when heavy rains, converted into floods, struck the city.
The storm struck a house’s sewer, owned by Don and Cindy Harris. This has then left a sink hole of around three feet. After this incident, the family asked Chester City officials to repair the broken line that caused major damage. However, officials ignored the request because they said there wasn’t enough proof that it was owned by the city.
A few months later, the city’s insurance company has concluded that the claim of the Harris family was true. The line was indeed owned by the city and should be covered by the local government. As of now, there are still no credible solutions found to fix the drainage problem. Residents, especially the Harrises, are hoping for an immediate response in line with this incident.
