Wayland Library to Receive Program’s Grant for Drainage Repairs
A funding worth two hundred sixty eight thousand and six hundred dollars ($268,000) will be given to Wayland Town’s Library. The said fund is awarded by the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program and is going to be used for the improvement of Wayland Library’s drainage and plumbing issues.
State officials were reportedly very happy to receive the funding since they can use it to address extreme flooding since March of 2010. Because of the unexpected heavy rainfall during that time, the town especially the homeowners experienced significant damage. Through this funding, Wayland can now better prepare against natural hazardous events.
In line with this, the overall funding received by the commonwealth had amounted to at least thirteen million and two hundred thousand ($13.2 million) dollars. The money will be spent to assist Wayland’s communities and its surrounding areas in developing ways to alleviate hazardous climates and events.
