Plumbing Foundation of New York Sued the City Department of Buildings
The Plumbing Foundation City of New York sued the New York City Department of Buildings for approving the plumbing installation in a 32-story residential building without following the requirement of the city code to have all plumbing and sprinkler installations performed by a licensed plumbing and fire control company.
The director of the Plumbing Foundation learned that the plumbing and fire control systems for residential buildings in the city were installed by unlicensed workers. This is not acceptable since according to the director “a gas pipe in a wall is a gas pipe in a wall, no matter where it’s put together.”
